Bristol Software Alterian moves to SDL
Monday January 30th 2012, 12:31 pm
Bristol’s once Leading Marketing Software Specialist Alterian has finally been purchased by SDL (located in Maidenhead).
This is great news for SDL but unfortunately not so great for Alterian as the main trigger for this being the fall in the Economy – a positive note is Alterian was not taken over by an outside party therefore keeping key skills and capability in the UK and ultimately supporting the UK Economy.
“Understanding what your customers are interested in by analysing what they are looking at, and for how long, is key in developing your web and customer engagement strategy”, said SDL executive chairman M. Lancaster.
SDL could now look into software outsourcing to countries such as India and China.

Tuesday January 24th 2012, 12:56 pm
Software Outsourcing does not take place in India, Europe and the States only, it also takes place in Asia between Japan and China with announcements resulting in China being Japan’s largest Software Outsourcing location. This is news to be pleased with in Japan and it can only help their relationship go from strength to strength.
From Japan’s External Trade Organization Mine Shentaro said, “China accounted for more than 60 percent of Japan’s outsourced software trade in 2006 and has become the country’s biggest software outsourcing base,” the organization is based in Dalian, northeast China’s Liaoning Province.
Outsourcing Software can only help in your Lean Management and Lean Software processes but it is key to keep you key capabilities in-house.

Blackberry Research In Motion have a Shuffle
Monday January 23rd 2012, 12:38 pm
Blackberry RIM co-founders and co-chief executives of the Giant have removed their positions from the Technology Company where they were the heads. It has been a tough time for the BBM and hopefully this move could bring a new wave of creation and innovation.
One of the co-founders said, “There comes a time in the growth of every successful company when the founders recognize the need to pass the baton to new leadership,” Lazaridis said, “Jim and I went to the board and told them that we thought that time was now.”
The sharing of the CEO and chair titles had been conducted for the last 20 years, which in itself is a great achievement. Lazaridis and Balsillie should be leaving with their heads held high.
