bullet Software Development rises for Zuckerberg
Wednesday June 23rd 2010, 11:22 am

Centrally-Held Data is to be readily accessible as a result of the Government making it available now. Mark Zuckerberg founder of Facebook has thanked the Government for allowing this to happen.

This is great news for Software Developers as now they can interface much better with Facebook bringing more creative ideas involving data into its workings, currently there is over one million software developers using the Facebook platform and this number is increasing by the day. Software development is having a huge link with Facebook and this can only get better.

As a result of a meeting between David Cameron and Mr Zuckerberg said, “a lot of the stuff that they’re talking about is about opening government data. They want to see good use cases so that it’s worth carrying on doing it. The more stuff like that that developers can provide, the more I think it will continue”.

Last year Facebook revenues were over £540 Million which was outstanding news but due to it being a private company full financial data is not made available.

bullet Software Outsourcing vs Lawful Outsourcing
Tuesday June 15th 2010, 9:48 am

Solicitors are continuously cross-training into becoming business Outsourcing Solicitors for Software Development, Software Testing, Hardware, Accounting and Business Processes organisations. This is very good news as it adds another function of an organisation to the shared services model which is ultimately cost saving solution.

Especially with the announcement of Wipro and Microsoft Partnering their Legal Processes making this more of a mainstream thing to do as previously most thought it was unusual. This would give smaller organisation more confidence in the system and encourage more partnership as this is always the low risk free solution to a business.

This is another result of Lean Management Consulting behaviour, streamlining your processes to work more efficiently as many organisation are investing in Lean Software Solutions allowing them to streamline their activates more resourcefully.

bullet The Cloud is not the Limit or is it to much Software?
Tuesday June 08th 2010, 1:50 pm

The IBM Rational Product Tools have been around for many years now, but how they work together has always been the question. Now they have got it fixed where IBM have Project Management, Requirements, Software Design, Software Testing and Configuration and Control tools all in an integrated solution – where everything is floating in the Cloud, but is the Cloud the limit as not we have systems for systems!

This is good Lean Thinking where the Project Management components can be used by Lean Management Consultants with a touch of Lean Software ideas.

The 13th IBM Rational Software User Group (Innovate 2010 Rational Software Conference) in Orlando, is currently running with some forward thinking experts on the bench. This is good news for Software Development with a lot of innovation and creativity expected to come-out.

Rational has also introduced a credit token system where you buy tokens and only pay for what you use, this is very good where your overall cost should be reduced giving you funding for additional project investment.

The VP of Marketing for Rational Mr Scott Hebner said, “You can exchange tokens for the tools you need when you need them. There’s no procurement process, which normally loses valuable time as you await fulfilment,”.
