Facebooks New Ticker Beats Time For Changes
Part of Facebook’s new improvements released this week is updated News Feed and the innovative ‘Ticker’.
Using Facebook’s new improvements can be viewed on You Tube to get a better understanding. According to the Facebook You Tube video users now have the option to choose a group of close friends and place them in a private friend list from where just you can look at their posts and you can just as privately reply to them. Facebook have made available the facility to unsubscribe from updates from particular friends providing some page de cluttering.
Also News Feed has been improved granting more control to the user to hide stories that aren’t of interest. Top Stories and Recent Stories have been put in the same screen area for ease of access.
New is Ticker, which is a constant stream running down the right hand side of the screen with real time news and messages from the user’s friends. Click on a friend’s image to read and respond if wished while still staying on your Facebook page.
The Facebook innovations have been met with mixed reviews, as some prefer the old style page format without so much information constantly moving through and cluttering up the page. As Facebook is a constantly changing and mentally ergonomic beast I am sure it will evolve as its users prefer and require, after all, new ideas always take some growing into.
