Microsoft has recently released details of an all-new tablet. Many people wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between many of the various tablets currently on the market, but Microsoft claims this one is newly innovative.
The main difference that makes the Surface stand out in the market is that it comes with a ‘revolutionary’ 3mm thin keyboard, which is optional, and clicks on to the gadget with one magnetic click. This has been done with the hope to bring more customers, who prefer a more traditional typing experience, to the Surface. At only 9.3 mm thin, the Surface is just about thin enough for a full sized USB port, but has enough space for an apparent ‘great’ battery.
The keyboard may be in opposition to the iPad, but one thing that remains the same is the two cameras integrated into the Surface. There are also stereo speakers and dual microphones which have been designed to help you sound like you are right next door when using Skype or LifeCam, Microsoft’s version of Apple FaceTime.
Surface has a 10.6”, 16:9 widescreen HD display, which makes for excellent movie-watching and even features a Micro SD memory card slot. Apple hasn’t jumped on to this band wagon yet, and many customers would agree that a memory card slot is essential for a personal computer. Have Microsoft made the next best thing? We’ll have to wait until the currently unknown release date to find out!
